The Very Hungary Caterpillar

The first week of October was the week we celebrated reading! Across the nation in preschools, teachers were reading "The very Hungary caterpillar" SO,
we invited friends over
they brought food
lots and lots of food
and we ate
and we ate
just like the caterpillar
BUT we didn't get a tummy ache like the caterpillar

The children painted a picture of what they thought a caterpillar looks like

and painting some more.

The kids did great listening to me read and talk about food for about 15-20 minutes... GOOD JOB!

Muffin Tin Mondays

This weeks theme was "All About Me"

I gave Scarlett food that she mostly liked and a few things i wanted her to try and then we talked about it, and i typed out sentences and we matched it to the food.

Sentences say:
I like Cheese.
I do not like apple cider.
I like Mickey mouse.
I like M and M's.
I do not like Ants.
I like Dora.

We are also working on the letter A and T and discussing everything about Scarlett!

Books

For the Letter A this week, we talked about Animals.

One book that we checked out at the library was "At the Zoo" by EriC Carle
Sugar loved this book.

At the bottom of each page it reviewed all the animals on the animal train and she loved to say exactly how many and which animals were on the train. At the end of the book, they all get off and go to the zoo... too cute!

This book is an Usborne book that I actually used a few months ago with Sugar and she seemed to remember. She wanted ALL the pieces out on the floor. We lined up the animals and sand a little jingle with the numbers and animals.

Cotton balls and clouds

It Looked Like Spilt Milk by Charles Shaw

Off of the book, we used COTTON BALLS TO COUNT and put into CONES.

Little Sugar picked a picture out of the book and began to design her own "cloud" with cotton balls.

She said she made a tree so i outlined it and it turned out pretty neat!

Cupcakes, cookies and more

For the letter C, our cooking experience was overloaded.

We made cupcakes and cookies all week, we even made another apple Crisp.

Not that we are advertising but yes, we used all pillsbury and crisco products to bake.

We mixed and we poured!

We counted out our cookies when we rolled them.

Since we were baking in the fall, we made Spider cupcakes to share with our friends!
