Welcome to Jack and little Jill's. This blog is to help me archive all of the educational experiences my children do. After teaching for 5 years and finishing my masters in adminstration, I am living the dream life of full time stay at home mommy to my two wonderful girls. I have collected these ideas to someday use in my future preschool. Enjoy the blog as Jack (daddy) and his little Jill's explore the world of learning through sugar and spice.
I will write another post about our stations and how I set them up. However, this was one of Willow's stations. (and guess who else had to get involved....) They both love this fridge game.
Willow loving to sew. (this was another station as well)
We made colored pasta. First, Scarlett helped me write the colors on the bags.
Then, we mixed 1 Tablespoon of alcohol and about 8 squirts of food coloring into a bag. Next, we dumped the amount of pasta we wanted for that color. Scarlett then was doing the shakes.
We let the pasta sit in the bags for about 20 minutes to absorb the color.
Last, we put each color out (on paper towel and wax paper) to dry. Stay tuned for what we are doing with it.
Over the weekend, we really didn't work tooo much on "learning time." To be honest, we usually do our "learning time" just during the week.
However, I have been trying to use my weekends to get caught up on research and other things for the possibility of homeschooling or just ideas to do with Scarlett.
I love lapbooks and would love to use them more with Scarlett, it just seems that I can't get caught up on "making them" and this website offers that. I actually blogged about it because I can win if I post it in my blog.
B is for Bugs. This "I like bugs" book is a nice level 1 book for beginners.
B is Buckeyes
A is for Alligator
I have been a little busy and well, quite frankly didn't keep up with this like I would like. I am going to try and post as much as I can. I would like to link up to sites where I find some of my info. I would also like to attach lessons that I type up for the week that I do with Scarlett. I was just talking to a friend on the phone tonight. We were talking about how often or what I do with Scarlett. I usually work with Scarlett on academic stuff for about 20 minutes a day. That's all it takes folks to show and guide your child at this age. Now, I usually read books, do crafts, make and bake, and play too. But academically, I usually work with her on the "goal" for the day in about 20 minutes. I
I am married to my high school sweetie! We have a daughter Scarlett who was born in December of 06. Then in August of 09 we were blessed with Willow Grayce. In August, 2012, Lane Joseph (LJ) was born. We just recently moved from the sunny state of Florida and now live in southern Ohio. Enjoy our blogs as one updates you on our everyday life. The other blog updates you on our educational experiences. The third blog updates you on what Trades of Hope does to change lives across the world.
